2nd Place: Kia Rondo

The Rondo is very much like the Mazda5, but it is better executed as a family vehicle. While the Mazda5 is more fun to drive and a bit less expensive, the Rondo is more comfortable and quieter, includes more safety features, gets better gas mileage, has a longer warranty, seats seven passengers instead of six (and five in reasonable comfort instead of four), has more cargo space, and gets better gas mileage.

The Rondo is less practical than this group’s vans, but it offers a much more pleasant feel and more features in the same price range. The third row seat isn’t designed for adult use, and cargo space is obviously much less than the physically larger vehicles. But it offers the group's most pleasant experience for its first five occupants, and can wedge in two more. If something the Rondo's size will do, it's the best all-around choice.
