Overall: The Entourage is both competent and
relatively inexpensive, but the near-identical Kia Sedona
costs less.
Overall Rating: 8/10
Recommended: No
The Entourage's 8/10 rating
clashes with its lack of a recommendation here. That strong 8/10 comes from
the newly-introduced Hyundai's comfort, refinement, safety, quality, and
value, but the same van is also sold with only slight differences as the Kia
Sedona, which is several thousand dollars less, and therefore there is no
reason to buy this van over its sibling. The Sedona came in second place out
of ten vehicles in the most recent
IFCAR minivan comparison test.
Differences between the two vehicles are few and
nearly imperceptible. A few interior materials are slightly different, and the
two vans have unique grille designs. The Sedona is a bit noisier and doesn't
ride quite as well, but handles better. Refer to the Sedona's write-up in the
comparison tests for more specifics about the two vans, as well as their
competitors.
Overall, the Entourage/Sedona is the not the
least expensive minivan, but it's the value leader in that it is the only
inexpensive minivan that comes close to the benchmark Honda Odyssey and Toyota
Sienna. It also beats their safety ratings and standard safety features, and
comes with a longer warranty. The vans are nearly at the level of those two
and cost much less, and should be shopped by anyone buying a minivan.
And for its lower price without significant
demerits, buy the Sedona if you go with one of the two.
